Lily oh lily
The girls are in the tub. They are starting sunday school tomorrow. They said they were going to say their prayers in the tub. I told Lily to go ahead and let me hear it and she began; "Our Father, We rot in heaven..."

Getting back into it
I hate that i've let this lapse for so long. So much has gone on the the girls have grown so much. So many fun/cool/funny things happen every day and this is such a great way for me to memorialize it all for myself and for all of you that read this that I have got to get back to keeping up.
The girls are now 3 years and 9 months. They are great, smart as whips and hillarious. Mia is still much more laid back and easy going while lily is still dominant, pushy and stubborn. Mia does tend to be more "emotional" (i.e. whiny). She'll cry/whine at the drop of a hat about everything while Lily holds it in more or states/demands what's wrong or what she wants. Lily is VERY self concious when around others and I often see her holding back/not participating in things like dancing while Mia is out there having fun and not caring about anything. They both still LOVE to sing and do it all the time. One of their current favorite songs is "Puff the magic dragon."
We've had a number of medical goings on this year; another siezure for Mia, another asthma attack for Mia. They both have seen a bevy of specialists regarding their petite size, however all outcomes have been good, and we know they will eventually grow and catch up. Actually they will both be taller than me.
They can both write their names, know all of the letters and the sounds they make. They can tell you what letter a word sounds with and even sound out some words.
They love to tell stories and they both talk about the goings on a "their castles" all the time. They talk about their mommies, sisters, brothers, cousins, grandma's, pop's, pets, etc at their castles and tell fantastical tales. It's quite funny.
A couple of weeks ago Lily said "Mommy's in charge. Mommy makes the rules and daddy plays with us. But both of you are the best." Gotta love that girl. Always honest.
We went on vacation to Long Beach Island a week and a half ago and it was great. You don't realize over the year the toll that the stresses of daily life take until you get away for a bit. The time together really helped us come back together and bond a little closer. About half way through the trip, Lily suddenly became a momma's girl which she hasn't been for a long time. Cuddling with me and wanting me to do things for her all the time. It has been nice since usually Mia is attached to me and Lily is more independant. I've always tried hard to make sure to keep things even, but it's hard when Mia is such a mommy's girl all the time and Lily is happy to have some space.
Will make an effort to get on here regularly even if just to update with a funny story from the day or a funny line one of the girls have said.

Almost 3!
I have slacked horribly with this. As you can imagine life is quite busy these days. The girls are going great, still peanuts, but smart as a whip. Lily is still me to a T, stubborn, independant and loving. Mia is still a sweetie, very easy going and quite a mommys girl. Attaching some pics, i'll give a proper update after their bday and 3 yr dr's visit.

Quick update
Mia had her nephrologist follow up last week. She has officially outgrown whatever kidney issue she had! We go back in 4 months for a follow up because of her size, just to make sure she's growing, but other than that, she's free of the nephrologist... She had gained 2 lbs since december which was great, she's not 22.2 lbs.. HUGE... ha.

We go to the GI dr on wednesday of this week with both girls to look into the celiac..

26 months
hmm... so what is new. The girls are now sleeping in "big girl beds" they really love them and it was a smooth transition. We are still waiting for the first time one of them strolls into our room in the middle of the night, but so far they haven't figured out that they could just get up and get out of bed any time they want.

Christmas night, after a long day of celebrating..
They love to dance, sing of course, be cheerleaders, monsters, mommies and play "the claw". They really love Chickadee and the cat really loves them, thank goodness. She actually follows them around, chases them, and plays with them all the time. The cat can be quite a pain the the behind, but we have to take the good with the bad.
They are so happy, and so good for the most part. Lily is still a handful, a bully, and very rebellious. She spends a lot of time in time out, but she really kind of likes it there. Go figure. Mia has taken to chastising Lily these days. When lily leaves time out and goes to appologize to Mia, she'll tell her what she did wrong, like "Lily, No hit me Lily, No hit." She makes sure to say her piece before giving lily a hug and accepting her apology.
We was on another eating strike for about 3 weeks. She really likes to make me worry. She lost a little weight, but she's started eating a little again. The doctor has once again stressed feeding her anything and everything that she'll eat. She suggested milk shakes. I can't believe the pediatrician is telling me to make my kids milk shakes.
Mia's follow up ultrasound is Wednesday. I am SO ready to get this done! We are hoping and praying that all will be good and we won't have this hanging over our heads anymore. We're taking all the prayers we can get!

happy new year
It's been a bit since my last post. We've had a 2nd birthday, as well as some wonderful holidays. The girls are amazing as always. They are so smart, and fiesty. Lily is totally me. She's tough, and stubborn, and mischeivious but so loving. We never know what she'll say when we walk in their room in the morning. Some regulars are "The animals!" and "You are Julie mummy". She consistantly calls Mia "Mia Bia". Mia switches off calling her Lily and Sissy. Mia as usual is still very sweet and laid back for the most part, but don't get me wrong she has her moments. She can be quite the crab and is VERY stubborn. Her favorite thing to say is "I can't like it or I can't want it". They are still singing and dancing up a storm and melting hearts wherever they go. I'm attaching a recent video, filmed just before christmas. I don't have any pictures on this new computer yet so I can't share any now...
OK, so the video took all night and did not load... So I guess that's out of the question..
I'll get some pictures up soon.
