28 Weeks

What a difference a week makes! So I am officially on Disability. No more working for this girl. Well, not for a while anyways. I got one of my "episodes" at work on monday. Dizzy like crazy, thank god i didn't hurl. I went home in car service and called my doc who said that he thought it's about time I stop working, it's not worth the chance of one of these episodes happening on the subway or at some other really bad moment. So here I am at home. It's quite nice. I had another "episode" on wednesday night, this one did involve puking. Fun stuff. I also came up with a lovely "PUPS" rash on my stomach which has since gotten worse. It's another "one of those things" that can happen in pregnancy, and basically there is nothing they can do about it. Fun stuff. I'm so lucky. I get all the fun stuff. So I had my scheduled doc's appt. yesterday. The girls are still 5 ounces apart. They are weighing in at 2 lbs and 2 lbs 5 ounces. They both look great, Lily is still head down and Mia has her butt in Lily's face again, she's butt down. And the big news is, WE HAVE A BIRTHDAY!! I will be having my scheduled C section on Tuesday November 14th. That's 35 weeks, 6 weeks from now! The doc feels that I won't make it to 37 weeks anyways, and he'd rather me have them in a controlled setting that to have me go into labor and have to have an emergency c section. They are going to give me steroid injections in 3 weeks to help mature the girls lungs. Also, we are closing on the co op either at the end of next week or the beginning of the following week. By the 10th at the latest. Good news since we've only got 6 weeks till the girls join us!!!

That's all for now, time to make a PB and Fluff sandwich and watch days...

27 Weeks, 1 Day

OK, so first off, all of my tests came back negative. Which was quite a releif, but also meant that I get to keep on going to work. Yeah.

The girls are doing great. Both Mia and Lily are moving, dancing and kicking like crazy. I've been really glad that Mia has been much more active the past couple of days. Lily is always very active, but i've worried about Mia because she's very docile. Well not anymore! Also, because they are growing and starting to run out of room, they're movements are much more pronounced. You can easily see my stomach jumping and the girls moving around. It's really cool. Pete is so freaked out by it.

Not much else new. My next appt is this coming thursday, the 28th. I plan on discussing with my doctor when I will stop working. It really is getting to be too much for me. Luckily we have the nurses office and I take naps at lunch. I have started having contractions. Not a lot. But at least a couple a day, so i'll discuss that with the doc as well. Maybe it'll help my case.

25 Weeks, 3 Days

So my shower in MA was this weekend and it was fantastic. They managed to surprise me and have it at the best ice cream place ever, Putnam Pantry which is a make your own sunday ice cream schmorgashbord.. haha, i butchered that. Then we all moved on to my Nana's house for a BBQ. I got so much GREAT stuff and it was really a great day and night. I got to see all my family and friends out there, eat a yummy sunday and eat candy, then BBQ food. They even managed to keep the place a surprise from me until about 5 minutes before we got there. At that point there would have been no way TO get me there without me figuring it out.

Today was my doctors appointment. The girls are still measuring 5 ounces different, but they have both grown 5 ounces as well. They both have great fluid levels, strong heartbeats, good movement and good umbilical pulses. Both girls are now head down. They turned together. I think it was last night, I was feeling movement that was unlike any i've felt so far, it was more or a turning type of feeling than a punch or kick. What a releif to know once again that both of our girls are doing well. I also had the glucose test and fetal fibronectic (pre term labor) tests. I'll get my results by friday. If the fetal fibronectin comes back positive, they'll pull me out of work immediately and start me on steroids to help mature the girls lungs. It'll mean that there is about a 25% chance of me going into labor in the next 3 weeks.

Overall I had a great weekend and a great appointment today.

24 Weeks 4 Days

I am getting big. Sunday, the woman at the deli asked me when i was due. I told her december and this look of shock and disbelief came across her face. I told her it was twins. She said "Oh, that explains it, I was going to say your way to big to not be due till december".

Another person, whom I know quite well took a mini bite sized twix out of my hand and said to me "do you know how long you'll have to work to get this thing off of your stomach"?. She did live. Barely.

Another woman i know quite well mentioned to me how i was carrying everything in my bottom half. I told her that i was ALL BELLY. MY JEANS STILL FIT ME I JUST CAN'T DO THEM UP.

Honestly? It amazes me that people feel as though they can say ANYTHING to you when you are pregnant. Don't they know that it is NEVER ok to say these things to people? Don't they know that we are HORMONAL.

And as for the unsolicited advice? It's almost unbearable.

On a happier note, I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THIS WEEKEND!!!

CHUCK-E-CHEESE HERE I COME!
