30 Days old

Well the girls are 30 days old today. They are both doing fabulously. We all had a great Christmas, it was really great having Ali and Lisa here for the holiday. We took Mia and Lily to church on Christmas eve. It was really important to me and I'm glad we did it, I'm also glad that Pete came. When I took the girls up at communion, father Randy was totally shocked to see us and got emotional. It was really nice. Now we have to start planning the baptism.

The girls have they're one month doctors appointment on Tuesday and they'll get their first shot then, the hepatitis vaccination. I'm really worried and scared for my girls and I will NOT be in the room when they get the shot.

I took Mia out today for the first time to a public place. We went to target. It was a quick trip and Mia LOVED the baby bjorn. Next time I get the chance, I'll take Lily with me alone. I work very hard to make sure all things are equal for the girls. I feel like Lily doesn't get as much mommy time as Mia does because Mia is such a fussy pants. I know that as mum said, they don't know the difference but I do and they will eventually.

I'm attaching some new pictures from Christmas eve and Christmas.

3 weeks old

The girls are 3 weeks old today. They are both doing fabulously as am I. We are still both breastfeeding and formula feeding as my boobs are defective and I never got a full milk supply. I am taking herbs and a special tea which are helping, but I don't think it'll ever become enough to feed the girls full time. I am still working on it, nursing and pumping but i think as it gets closer to time to return to work I may go to full time formula feeding. It's really upsetting to me as I never even considered feeding my kids formula, but I'm killing myself at this point, it's stressful, and going back to work is going to be bad enough without that added stress. We shall see.

Here are some new pictures...

Much overdue update

OK, so Lily Marie and Mia Grace were born on Friday December 1st. Lily was born at 11:10 am weighing 6 lbs, 3 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches long. Mia followed close behind at 11:11 am weighing 5 lbs 6 ounces and measuring 18 inches long. After a couple hours in recovery I was reunited with them and it was wonderful.

We were released from the hospital this past tuesday, the 5th and happily came home together. My mom stayed with us to help since tuesday and left this afternoon. It was great to have her here and we were all sad to see her go.

I am still having to bottle feed the girls with formula since my milk hae not come in. I am pumping regularly to try and help it, unfortunately i'm seeing little progress. It is so frustrating and i'm trying really hard not to let it get to me. Really really hard. The girls however are doing great. As of their doctors appt. yesterday morning, the were both back to within an ounce of their birthweights and had gained some more length as well.

They are the best thing to ever happen to me and I ask my self all the time how i ever got to be so blessed to have these 2 beauties.

Pete's been doing great as well. I knew he'd be a great dad but it's still really nice to watch the transition. To see him with them, the awe and love in his eyes. He had to work Wed. through Fri this week but will be home with us most of next week.

Mia's Umbilical cord stump fell off today. I was very excited!

I am now easily able to tell the girls apart. Mum was as well. Everyone else still has a problem. It's one thing if they are right next to each other, then you can see it in the size difference. When they are not right near each other though most everyone has no idea who is who.

I'm attaching some pictures, first of the nursery and some of the girlies first week.
